Becue was founded in April 2016 by Alessandro Bressan and Michele Carniel, born from years of research and development focused on the use of composite materials in the game of billiards. Both founders are avid players and lifelong pool enthusiasts, having been immersed in the world of billiards from a young age by frequenting pool halls and competing in numerous tournaments and championships.
In 2010, after years of using traditional wooden cues and shafts, they began to explore the idea of overcoming the natural limitations of wood through the use of composite fibers. Their goal was simple: to address the performance decline that occurs in wooden cues over time. Their approach was inspired by the evolution of materials in other sports—such as skis, tennis rackets, and golf clubs—which had moved beyond their traditional materials. In their view, billiards seemed to be "stuck" using only wood, and they sought to innovate the game with modern, high-performance materials.
